Parent Involvement
In accordance with NCLB, SVHS supports the right of all parents to know and view teacher qualifications and have access to their child's assessment data. Parents are invited to contact Ms. Gilliam or Ms. Coleman with inquiries regarding these items.
Our annual Title 1 meeting was held on virtually on December 14th, 2020 at 4pm. See the documents reviewed below:

The administration and teaching staff at SVHS solicits support from our parents and community. Using the six pillars of parent involvement, as outlined by Dr. Epstein and the National PTA, we attempt to maximize communication and collaboration to benefit our students. Open houses, program meetings, and language/technology training are offered at flexible times and widely publicized. The consistently formatted school website and bi-monthly newsletters read easily and promote equal access. Parents, guardians, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend annual meetings, give feedback regarding the school parent compact, and help develop AdvancEd and School-wide plans. The school is committed to providing resources and training to build parent and community networks. Currently, many strategies are in place to facilitate the school/parent partnership . . . although we are always expanding techniques to improve our practice.
