College & Career Support

Sun Valley is committed to ensuring that all students have a written college and career plan when they graduate.  To this end, all parents and students are encouraged to use SVHS's College & Career Center located in Room 11D.  In the center, Ms. Hamilton provides students with key college information.  From arranging college visits, to determining a college major, to filling out an online FAFSA form, to searching and applying for scholarships, Ms. Hamilton ensures that all college-bound graduates have access to important information.  Ms. Starner heads up career services in the center, helping students find jobs, providing career aptitude testing, and coordinating paid and unpaid internships.Students at Sun Valley may choose to pursue either the standard or scholastic diploma.  All enrolling students declare their intended diploma type upon enrollment.  Potential senior graduates must see Lori Galvan to complete a graduation application and confirm their diploma intentions.  Although the requirements for these diplomas vary, all graduates must pass AIMS reading, writing, and math to be candidates for graduation.
